You don’t mention if you are on medication (like Tapazole) for your thyroid or if you are under the care of an endocrinologist? My mother had this and her doctor had her see a Nutritionist to get her on the right foods. She wasn’t able to get off the medication, but with the help of the right diet she was able to take the smallest dose and she felt so much better!
Good luck!

Spicy foods will help with the metabolism. I don;t know much about hypothyroidism. You may want to check with a health food store on that, since you don’t want to use conventional drugs from you doctor. Acupuncture may even be a solution.

Iodine is the most abundant mineral in the thyroid gland. If a doctor has tested you and told you that you do suffer from hypothyroidism and thought that it was low enough he would prescribe Synthroid. It is suggested that taking supplement made from glands will improve their function. But I’ve seen no proof of this.I know that many weightlifting supplements contain these ingredients but I don’t know of any off hand.Do a search for glandular supplements and see a doctor. Most table salt is iodized so it’s a good source. Most people don’t need allot of iodine so your problem may be related to something else.So again, see a doctor
