I went for a blood test, a normal routine blood test and next I know I am back in drinking a certain amount of a high energy glucose drink [never drink them anyway] as they are concerned over my glucose level? They took blood before, then gave me this well known drink, fizzy drink and I had to sit and wait one hour. According to on lookers, it was a bit like watching the launching of a ship, as I slid off the chair onto the floor and felt dizzy, leave me alone attitude. You cannot take someone of my age, 48 and give them a fizzy glucose drink that they would not ‘normally’ have and expect them to react normally. If Glucose is supposed to ‘give’ you energy, it had the opposite reaction on me, cold stone sober on the floor, feeling ill.
Anyway the bloods came back and it seems my pancreas coped extremely well with this glucose drink, therefore I must have a slow metabolism!
Well no point in drinking glucose energy drinks, they would not help my metabolism. Therefore I joined a Pilates class, once a week and lost two stone in body weight and toned up my muscles, let alone improved my posture. Hey it was hard grueling work, but I did it.
The only way to speed up is to exercise and I find Gyms boring but Pilates with other people is, well it is hard work but funny and a social event.
