Has anyone tried The Fast Track Detox Diet?

Citrine Dream asked:

I’m thinking about getting this book and trying it out: The Fast Track Detox Diet by Ann Louise Gittleman. Has anyone tried it, or any other detox diets?

I have PCOS and I’ve been meaning to try a short detox diet, and then lowering my carb intake (not Atkins, just less carbs and sugars, and more veggies).

    Want to lose weight?

I watched a documentary once. They made a research with a group of some 5 or 6 women, and a test group. They put them on a harsh detox diet, and the test group on normal food.
Apart from losing a tiny little bit of weight, the diet group had the exact same results of blood tests, urine tests, kidney tests and everything than the non-diet group.
There wasn’t any result at all which would confirm that the detox dies speeds up the cleaning of poisons from the body.

Detox diets are a myth, they don’t work. You’d do your body a much greater favour if you eat a healthy, balanced diet with a lot of fruit and vegetables. Don’t forget regular exercise.
