Chinese food and weight loss?
lee01 asked:
Do you think it would be okay to eat chinese food that consists of a vegetable plate, vegetable egg roll, and hot and sour soup, skip the rice. Do you think I can still maintain my weight if i eat like this.

depends on what they cook the food in. if it’s kind of greasy and not done with the right kind of oil or something it’ll really pack on some calories and i dont think egg rollls are healthy regardless of what is in it but mostly you really can eat it and still maintain your weight you just have to burn more calories than what you take in.

keep the sodium count as low as possible(little salt). Try to avoid the egg roll as much as possible. I am a dietician so be careful about portiopn sizes as well.

get rid of the egg roll – its deep fried! tell the restaurant that you cant have a lot of oil and not to use too much on the vegetables. even though your only eating vegetables and soup you are probably taking in way too much salt and calories!
Need to lose weight?
Depends if its fried then no, if its natural then yes.

The veggies are fine, but if there is any sauce on it probably is not. The veggie egg roll is usually deep-fried, so thats a big no-no. Hot and sour soup may not be too bad for you. Try to add some fruit and some lean protein-chicken. Just be sure its not deep-fried=]

eat the rice too.
Metabolism and Your Weight
Hey Lee
Ooh I must admit my ab fave food, so maybe i’m not an appropriate person to ask as i would just munch away and think about all the permutations after, i just find Chinese food the most tasty and diverse of all foods
Lose weight, Lose Fat
watch portion size,no sauce(lotz of sodium*.chinese is actually pretty healthy it has alot of veggies&stay away from anything fried….do you ever see a fat chinese person lol
Lose weight, Lose Fat
Make sure it has no MSG. It’s a bad additive that Chinese food is notorious for. Also don’t eat anything fried, it’s too much fat and sodium. Like the egg roll.
Actually the more I’m thinking about this, I don’t think it’s a good idea. You need protein in your diet and there is none in that list. Plus eating that every day is boring and you need variety. You need more vitamins and fiber in your diet. I think you could maintain your weight but you won’t lose weight.

Yup. When I was on Weight Watchers I ate chinese food every Friday. Whether it be 2 Cups of Chicken and Broccolli with Fried Rice, or Chicken or Vegetable Lo-Mein, etc.etc. I even ate Crabmeat Rangoons, and it didn’t effect my diet in the slightest, I still lost a total of 20 pounds, easy and without stressing myself out.

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
