why is that when someone is severely profoundly anemic they are so agitated and hard to deal with?

Ann G asked:

Not only that but they make very very poor decisions and are very forgetful? Just went through this with a friend of mine. She ended up getting 4 units of pscked blood cell whatever which is just a quick fix but wow! her counts are down again but higher than when fisrt taken so iron pills with b-12 and vitamin -c and diet and rest are helping but she is so agitated and makes poor decisions. Could this be because of her anemia?

    Lose weight, Lose Fat

It is very possible her cognitive issues are related to being hypoxic (not enough oxygen).

Takes a couple of weeks+ for RBCs to increase after iron is started.

When her CBC is within normal limits, can then have a look at how/if her behavior is affected. Until then, is very hard to say……..
